Summer Time!

Posted: June 3, 2011 in Uncategorized

It occurred to me, while chatting it up online about PorcFest today, that there are tons of  events coming up this summer. I’ll personally be attending as many of these events as possible, but I figured I’d make a list of these, if not only to organize myself, but also in case you haven’t heard of some of them.

The first thing coming up this Saturday June 4th, is the Dance Party @ TJ’s. You can see who you know that’s going out of the 3000+ attendees on the Facebook event page. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you have heard about what happened there last weekend. But just incase you have been living under a rock here are some of the videos that emerged.

Also, if you can’t make it to DC on Saturday there is always the sister event being called the National Monument(al) Dance Party in support of the Dance Party @ TJ’s. There are separate events popping up on there all the time.

Then there will be the usual Tuesday night of chatting with my fellow voluntaryists in the chat room for Thinking Liberty. The show starts at 8:00 and goes to 10:00 every Tuesday.

Friday June 10th will be the, always amazing, Rebel Inc show in Baltimore. Tickets are only $10 from the band or $12 at the door. You can catch these guys playing up at PorcFest too.

At this point, there will be only one event that I will be talking about and getting ready for. That event is The 2011 Porcupine Freedom Festival! Before I go off on a rant about why you should go  (I’m saving that for another post) I’d suggest you check out the speaker/guest list. We’re talking about 1000+ hardcore liberty minded individuals all on one camp ground. It doesn’t get any better than this.

After recovering from what I call “back to reality shock” there will be another overnight camping festival called FreedomPalooza. It’s on July 2nd and 3rd in Kintersville, Pennsylvania. Tons of great bands playing and plenty of good people to philosophise with. Definitely good times to be had.

Not even two weeks later we will be going to our second Kick Ass Camping and River Trip! Yes this is exactly what it sounds like. Go check out some of the picture from last year. If you’re able to make it I suggest you do. There are no speakers yet, no campgrounds, no rules. Just how we like it.

That just about wraps up most of the major events for the summer. If you know of any that I missed and think they should be added, comment away and I’ll add them.
